The AI phone receptionist for solicitors & law firms.

Someone selling a house, making a will or facing a family problem often rings two or three firms and instructs the one that gets back to them first. Ringmere answers in your firm’s name, takes the new enquiry for the right team or books an initial consultation, and never gives legal advice.

The missed-call problem

Sound familiar?

  • Fee earners in meetings or at court when a new client rings
  • Conveyancing enquiries that go to whichever firm calls back first
  • Reception tied up with “is there any news on my file?” calls

Every one of those is a booking walking to a competitor. Ringmere answers before it does.

How Ringmere helps solicitors & law firms

Answer, book, and hand you the rest.

Answers your calls, 24/7

First-ring pickup, evenings and weekends included, so callers get a real answer instead of voicemail.

New matters taken down, consultations booked

A new client’s name, number and the kind of matter go to your team for a callback, or into a consultation slot if you offer them by phone.

Escalates what matters

Urgent, clinical or unhappy callers go to your team immediately, with full context.

It answers messages too: on Growth and Pro, customers can WhatsApp or text your business and the same receptionist replies, books and takes orders.

Call by call

Every call a law firm gets.

A firm’s first phone call is often the whole contest for a new instruction. This is what Ringmere does with the calls that arrive while your fee earners are in meetings, on completions or at court.

The callWhat Ringmere does
A buyer or seller who wants a conveyancing quoteGives the starting fee you have approved and what it includes, and takes what the caller tells it about the sale or purchase, with their number, so your conveyancing team can quote properly.
Someone who needs a will or a lasting power of attorneyQuotes your fixed fees, explains how your process starts as you have written it, and books an initial meeting or takes the details for a callback.
A family, employment or dispute problem: “Can you help me?”Takes a short description in the caller’s words and passes it to the right team. It never says whether they have a case or what they should do.
A caller who says it is urgent: an arrest, an injunction, a hearing tomorrowEscalated to a person straight away, live to the number you choose or by text and email with the caller’s number.
An existing client chasing an updateTaken as a message for the fee earner. Ringmere does not see your case files, so it never guesses at progress.
Another firm, a court or an agent callingTaken as a message with their name, organisation and number, and passed on. It confirms nothing about any client or matter.
Lunchtimes, evenings and Saturday morningsAnswered the same way, so the enquiry is waiting for your team rather than with the firm that picked up.

An example call

Written to show how a call goes, using sample services and prices; not a recording.

Caller: Hello, my wife and I want to make our wills. How much do you charge?

Ringmere: Mirror wills for a couple are £450 plus VAT, and that includes a meeting with one of our solicitors to go through everything. Would you like me to book that first meeting?

Caller: Yes please. We also have a question about leaving the house to our children.

Ringmere: That’s one for the solicitor, so I’ll add a note for your meeting. I have Thursday at 2pm or Friday at 10am. Which is better?

Caller: Thursday, please.

Ringmere: Can I take your name?

Caller: Martin Hughes.

Ringmere: Thanks, Martin. You’re booked for Thursday at 2pm to talk about your wills, with a note about the house. We’ll see you both then.

Questions from solicitors & law firms

Good to know.

Will it give legal advice?
No. Ringmere never tells a caller whether they have a case, what they should do next or what a matter will cost beyond the fees you have approved. It takes their name, number and a short description of the matter in their own words, and your team gives the advice.
Does it run a conflict check?
No, that stays with your firm. Ringmere never tells a caller that you can act for them. It records who is calling and what the matter is about, and your team runs its own checks before anyone is instructed.
Does it take messages or book consultations?
You decide, in one setting. On enquiries, it never offers a time: it takes the caller’s details and the type of matter and sends them to your team by text and email for a callback. Add a timed initial consultation and set it to offer times, and it books that into Google Calendar, Outlook or the built-in diary.
What about urgent or sensitive calls?
Anything the caller says is urgent, such as an arrest or a hearing tomorrow, is escalated to a person straight away: put through live to the number you choose, or sent by text and email with their number. If a caller would rather not say what it is about, it does not press them; it passes on what it has.
Can it tell a client how their matter is going?
No. Ringmere does not connect to your case management system, so a client chasing an update is taken as a message for the fee earner with their name and number, rather than given an answer nobody can check.
Can it quote our fees?
Only the fees you approve, in your words: a fixed fee for a will, say, or a starting price for conveyancing plus VAT and disbursements. If the fee depends on the matter, it tells the caller the team will quote once they have spoken.
How is client information handled?
Call data is stored in the UK and encrypted in transit and at rest, and the receptionist uses only the information you approve. Answering a call needs a few vetted sub-processors (telephony, AI, email), some of which process outside the UK under UK GDPR transfer safeguards. They are named in our privacy policy, and a DPA is available.
What does an AI receptionist cost for a law firm?
Ringmere is £49 a month on Starter, with 150 call minutes and a UK number included, £99 on Growth and £249 on Pro, each with a 7-day free trial. For scale, an illustration only: if a firm misses four new-enquiry calls a week and one of them would have instructed on a £995 conveyancing matter, that is over £4,000 a month of fees at stake.
Is Ringmere an answering service for solicitors & law firms?
Yes, and a virtual receptionist too. Like an answering service, it picks up your calls 24/7 under your business name. Like a virtual receptionist, it answers questions, takes the details of a new enquiry and arranges a callback from your team. Because it is an AI receptionist it costs from £49 a month, never puts a caller on hold, and on Growth and Pro replies on WhatsApp and text as well.
